Seikomatic-R 8306-8090

For vintage Seiko lovers, here’s a Seikomatic-R to share with you. It is powered by the 8306 movement which is an automatic movement that has hand wind and stop second feature.

The Seikomatic’s were generally positioned as ‘business watch’ during the sixties. They were made for formal use. This particular model is also a Sealion and I believe it was positioned as a sporty business watch. In today’s context, it is like wearing a dressy dive watch to a formal occasion.

Here’s a movement shot. For more info on the movement, please check out this post at The Watch Spot.

And here’s the caseback. Like most Sealions that I have seen, the engravings on the caseback have faded.

This watch was made in December 1967 by Suwa Seikosha.
